Aims and Objectives
NFSU Uganda Campus is committed to building forensic science capacity across the African continent through focused, world-class education and training.
Primary Aims
- Quality Education: Provide internationally benchmarked education in forensic and allied sciences to students from Uganda, East Africa, and the broader continent.
- Human Resource Development: Develop a skilled workforce for forensic science laboratories, law enforcement agencies, intelligence services, and cyber security operations.
- Research & Innovation: Promote cutting-edge research in DNA forensics, digital evidence, toxicology, cybercrime, and security policy.
- International Collaboration: Establish academic and research partnerships between Indian and African institutions, enabling knowledge transfer and joint publications.
- Justice System Strengthening: Support the criminal justice system through scientific investigation techniques that meet international evidentiary standards.
Specific Objectives
- Train forensic science professionals who can assist police, prosecutors, and judiciary in evidence-based investigations
- Develop cyber security experts capable of protecting national digital infrastructure
- Conduct short-term training programs for serving law enforcement and judicial officers
- Create a forensic research hub that generates knowledge relevant to the African context
- Build awareness among the public and policymakers about the role of forensic science in ensuring justice
