MOUs (India-Uganda Bilateral Agreement)

Memoranda of Understanding

The NFSU Uganda Campus operates under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between the Government of the Republic of India and the Government of the Republic of Uganda, establishing the framework for this historic academic partnership.

India-Uganda Bilateral Agreement

The MOU was signed during a high-level bilateral visit, reflecting both nations' commitment to strengthening forensic science education and security capacity in East Africa. The agreement covers:

  • Academic Cooperation: Joint curriculum development, degree programmes, and academic quality assurance aligned with NFSU India standards
  • Faculty Exchange: Deputation of Indian faculty and visiting professors to the Uganda Campus, alongside training for Ugandan teaching staff
  • Research Collaboration: Joint research projects in forensic science, cyber security, and criminal justice relevant to African contexts
  • Capacity Building: Training programmes for law enforcement, judiciary, and government officials from Uganda and neighbouring countries
  • Infrastructure Development: Establishment and equipping of forensic laboratories, smart classrooms, and digital facilities

Significance

This partnership is part of India's broader commitment to South-South cooperation in education. NFSU Uganda is the flagship initiative under this framework, demonstrating how specialized academic institutions can address critical security and justice challenges in developing regions.
